Brian was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, and earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore. After more than 8 years as a freelance art-director, designer and illustrator, and 5 years as an in-house designer at Scholastic, the world's largest children's book publisher, he has participated in a wide spectrum of rewarding projects, including the design of over 140 book covers, and the art direction of an award-winning magazine. His work has been recognized by the New York Foundation for the Arts, the Society of Illustrators, and American Illustration.
